Charles Melton Wine Dinner

with winemaker Sophie Melton

at Little Black Pig & Sons.

Charles Melton Wines is one of the Barossa Valley's most iconic family wineries, celebrated for helping revive the region's old-vine Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre at a time when many historic vineyards were being removed. Since releasing its first vintage in 1984, the winery has earned international acclaim for wines that honour the Barossa's rich viticultural heritage while balancing generosity, elegance and longevity. Today, the family legacy continues with second-generation winemaker Sophie Melton, who works alongside her father Charlie to shape the next chapter of one of Australia's most respected wine estates.

The story of the Barossa arrives at Little Black Pig & Sons on Thursday 22 October, as Sophie Melton joins us for a one-night-only evening celebrating the wines of Charles Melton alongside a bespoke five-course menu by Chef & Owner David Lakhi. Having studied Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide before refining her craft at Peter Lehmann Wines and Thorn-Clarke, Sophie returned to the family winery in 2022, bringing a fresh perspective while remaining deeply connected to the philosophy that has defined Charles Melton for more than four decades.

Sophie, alongside Little Black Pig & Sons chef and owners David and Emilia Lakhi, will guide guests through five wines and matching courses in the Tuscan Room at Heidelberg's Little Black Pig. As the evening draws to a close, guests will put their palates and memory to the test in our signature options game, with a special prize awaiting one lucky winner.
