Father's Day at Little Black Pig & Sons

City Dining in the ’Burbs

This Father’s Day, skip the socks and bring Dad to Little Black Pig.

At Little Black Pig & Sons in Heidelberg, we’re celebrating Father’s Day with lunch and dinner, serving a generous four-course sharing menu built around cucina povera - exceptional produce, simply treated.

For those searching for a Father’s Day restaurant in Melbourne without heading into the CBD, consider this your invitation to experience city dining in the ’burbs.

A Father’s Day menu made for sharing

Chef & Owner David Lakhi will create a four-course, chef-selected menu designed to be shared with friends and family.

While this year’s menu is still under wraps, expect the hallmarks of a Little Black Pig menu: seasonal Victorian and Australian produce, handmade pasta, slow-cooked proteins, housemade breads and classic desserts, with everything made in-house and fortnightly menus.

It’s generous Italian dining grounded in cucina povera - a philosophy built on seasonality, resourcefulness and treating good ingredients with respect.

A Wine List built to eat with

Expect a food-driven wine list with Italy as it's backbone, Victoria and Australia as its second major voice and France appearing selectively.

Mirroring the restaurant, our wine list combines Italian classics, philosophy and technique, and thoughtful Australian producers and minimal-intervention wines.

Our whites move from aromatic wines such as Sevenhill Riesling, Mitchell Harris Fumé Sauvignon Blanc and Alta Mora Etna Bianco into Soave, Pecorino, Chardonnay and ultimately serious white Burgundy.

Our reds similarly move from Pinot, Etna Rosso and Brackenwood Gamay/Pinot into Tuscan and Abruzzese wines, Nebbiolo and Chianti, before reaching Shiraz, Rhône, Cabernet, Amarone, Aglianico and the prestige Italians.

Our Australian Wines tell another story

Schwarz, Levantine Hill, Brackenwood, Mitchell Harris and Phaedrus aren't random Australian additions. They're producers with whom Little Black Pig has relationships or whose wines fit into the broader producer-led philosophy we’ve been developing.

Schwarz appears by the glass and by bottle, including the single-vineyard Schiller Shiraz; Levantine Hill spans Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Samantha's Paddock and Botrytis; Brackenwood appears in the lighter reds.

Little Black Pig is passionate about reconnecting diners with the people behind what they’re consuming.
