Get insider access to the TarraWarra revolution at Little Black Pig & Sons with winemaker Sarah Fagan.
There’s a revolution underway at TarraWarra Estate, and it started in September 2023 with the recruitment of winemaker Sarah Fagan. Originally from De Bortoli Yarra Valley, Sarah spent the last 20 years perfecting winemaking in our beautiful region. Now, she’s shaking things up, starting a “fresher, brighter era at TarraWarra Estate” (Mattinson 2024).
TarraWarra Estate’s vineyard covers 26 hectares, split into 24 individual blocks spread across the property. While they’ve built their reputation on top-notch Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, some of the newer plantings - like Shiraz, Barbera, and Nebbiolo - are starting to turn heads too. These single-block wines show off the unique character of each part of the vineyard, while the Estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are blended from across the property to capture the full essence of TarraWarra.
Under the guidance of winemaker Fagan, everything is done with care - from growing and handpicking the grapes to making and aging the wine, all right there on the estate. TarraWarra is also big on sustainability and staying true to its roots, which is part of why it’s become a must-visit spot in the Yarra Valley.
Join us at Little Black Pig & Sons on Thursday the 14th of August to discover how TarraWarra blends Yarra Valley northfacing hillside land with sustainability, with winemaker Sarah Fagan. Sarah along with Little Black Pig & Sons chef and owners, David and Emilia Lakhi, will guide you through five wines with matching courses in the newly renovated Heidelberg venue.
